NEED HELP re MACROS!

Dear brothers and sisters;

Does anyone have experience working with Excel macros or Word macros?  I know I can go to the "help" in Microsoft but need to get just a basic demo between now and this Sunday, February 4th. 

I need to create commands on repetitive data or numbers/formulas but am seeking just an actual simple explanation crash course of steps 1, 2, 3...thats all.  Then after next week I can go back and study up on it a bit more.

Its for personal and will have its uses in the ministry but every professional I have asked doesn't have experience with it. 

If you do know or have used it I would be most grateful if you could help me.
