Tell me how to protect my computer

What will be a better one firewall I can download and use for free, that will come with my windows xp and won't slow it down?

Welcome to Gather In His Name to you and your family!  We have brothers and sisters who serve in this ministry that can help you with your question. 

I have been using Symantec Norton for about 3 years now.  I pay $60.00 a year for the full package and use both XP and 2000 Professional.  When I am at Gather In His Name I am using 2000 Professional and Symantec's firewall does not slow down my usage.  I don't even know its there and thats a good thing.  I don't want to have to think about it as I am writing this to you for example. 

Others may want to offer their suggestions and for future reference we have a "Help Desk" forum outside your introduction.

I wouild like to strongly say to people who pay for these kind of software please don't, as there are some very good "free" software out there. Please take a look in Help Desk , there I will recommend some great software.
